Talha Tariq

Content Creator

Joined Ethics Bowl 10/2022

The Ethics Bowl Canada (EBC) team is thrilled to announce Talha Tariq as the November Member of the Month! As a Content Creator within the Digital Engagement Enterprise, Talha has stood out for his outstanding contributions to EBC’s social media presence. Whether designing engaging posts for Instagram or crafting compelling narratives for Facebook, Talha’s creativity and dedication have left a lasting impression.

Nominated by his project manager, Safiya, Talha has been praised for his hard work, adaptability, and ability to embrace challenges. Safiya highlights, “Talha always has a positive attitude and is ready to adapt in any situation. He is a hard worker and great team player!” His innovative “chill guy” post – based on a current social media trend – demonstrates his ability for staying ahead of the curve in digital trends. He has also played a pivotal role in creating content like the Instagram case briefs, a bio on a past EBC competitor, and the popular “Why You Should Join the College Bowl” post.

More than just a talented content creator, Talha’s adaptability and teamwork have been vital to the success of the social media project. Safiya adds, “He adapted early on in the season to unforeseen delays and always steps up to fill roles that need support. He is a creative, understanding, hardworking asset to our team.”

Talha is a fourth-year student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Biology for Health Sciences with a double minor in Philosophy and Political Science. This is his third year with Ethics Bowl Canada, and his contributions have been nothing short of exceptional. Starting as a moderator for the Ontario Ethics Bowl (OEB) in his first year, Talha then took on the role of Junior Associate in the Engagement Department for the OEB last year. Now, he serves as a Content Creator and Data Technician for the National Ethics Bowl (NEB), showcasing his versatility and dedication to the organization.

When asked why he joined the Ethics Bowl, Talha shared, “I was very intrigued by the idea of there being a competition where philosophical discussions occur over real-world problems. I didn’t compete in the Ethics Bowl during high school because I wasn’t aware of such a thing. However, when I heard about it in university, it really caught my attention, and I wanted to help ensure that high school students don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to take part in a fun and thought-provoking competition while also developing some crucial skills!”

For Talha, being part of the student department has been an incredibly rewarding experience. He values the chance to work alongside talented and passionate peers. “It’s been really fulfilling to see how the work done by each individual in the organization plays a crucial role in spreading awareness about the NEB across the country,” he says. His role as a content creator has allowed him to tap into his creative side, experimenting with new software and techniques while contributing to diverse and exciting projects.

Talha feels deeply honoured to be named Member of the Month, expressing his thanks to everyone who nominated and selected him. “Most importantly, I’d like to thank every single person, both at the forefront and behind the scenes, who helps make the NEB such a strong and vibrant community for students like myself across the country. I look forward to continuing this amazing work alongside all of you!”

Talha’s dedication, creativity, and teamwork have been integral to the success of the Ethics Bowl Canada. Congratulations, Talha, on this well-deserved recognition!
