2025 Manitoba Regional Ethics Bowl

The Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties, the Manitoba Department of Education, and the University of Manitoba Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics are pleased to invite you to the 11th Manitoba High School Ethics Bowl on February 21-22, 2025 at the University of Manitoba.

Tournament Details

  • Deadline: October 13, 2024, or until all spots are filled (first-come, first-served basis).
  • Team Limit: Each school may register one team initially. If we do not reach the current cap of 20 teams, schools will have the opportunity to register a second team.
  • Cost: $350 per school for one team.
  • Commitment: By registering, your team is committing to participate in the entire program.
  • Invoicing: Once your team registration is confirmed, you will receive an invoice via email. Be sure to include the correct email address and contact information when registering.
  • Training Program Information: The Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties (MARL) will offer students and coaches training sessions on November 28, 2024, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Students who participate in this Program and the Regional Ethics Bowl will receive a certificate for Ethics Training and Dialogue, while Coaches will be introduced to new resources and technical training.

A Big Thank You

We would like to thank the staff of Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties (MARL) for supporting not only the local regional but supporting the national Ethics Bowl Canada organization. MARL has been an integral part of the planning committee for the Canadian High School Ethics Bowl nationals at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.(CMHR)

We also want to acknowledge the in kind contribution of the CMHR for providing space for training sessions and the national competition. Their staff have been overwhelming flexible to our needs in creating an outstanding memorable events.

We would like to thank the Centre of Applied and Professional Ethics at the University of Manitoba for their continued support in hosting the regionals, plus all the volunteers that see the value of respectful collaborative dialogue.

Finally, the most important acknowledgement goes to all the teachers for helping students acquire critical thinking skills. Without you the Ethics Bowl would not exist.
